Hi, I’m Dr. Angela E. Thomas-DuPree!
Where am I from?
I’m a native of Labadieville, Louisiana, and the 12th child of Peter and Carlbertha Thomas.
The place I now call home?
I currently reside in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, with my husband Clyde S. DuPree and my three kids—twins, Jason and Justin, and beautiful daughter, Jenesis.
My educational background?
I earned my associate degree in 1984 from Nicholls State University. In 1995, I earned my bachelor’s degree, and in 1997, I earned my master’s degree from Florida International University (FIU), with the Cum Laude academic honor. In 2003, I earned my Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University.
I’ve been an administrator for over 21 years with the Miami-Dade County School System.
Why do I love being an educator?
My love for education affords me the opportunity to foster students’ endeavors daily. I am an educational entrepreneur as well. I was once the owner and operator of three successful childcare centers. As of today, I have plans to launch my independent educational academy as my retirement endeavor.
My life outside of work?
I love helping others, serving the community, and serving my church. I am a Diamond Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a charter member of the South Broward Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, where I served as a charter officer and continue to be actively involved.
